Roberts Mackie Winstanley is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is entered on the Financial Services Register https://register.fca.org.uk/s/ under firm reference number (FRN) 439624. We ensure that our business practices, systems and controls are robust and fully compliant with financial services regulations at all times. Please take a look through our website and if we can help you with any financial matter, do get in touch. Our initial consultation is free of charge; we are happy to help. Parking and wheelchair access is available at the office.
We have provided a link to the FCA’s Financial Services Register above so that you can check us out, but you should always access the Register direct from the FCA’s website, not through any email or website link. If you decide to engage with a new financial services firm, make sure you’re dealing with a genuine, authorised and regulated, firm, and not a ‘clone firm’. You should always check if the firm’s FRN (the firm reference number) and contact details are the same as on the Financial Services Register. If there are no contact details on the Register or if a firm claims they’re out of date, call the FCA’s Consumer Helpline on 0800 111 6768. Always contact the firm using the contact details on the Financial Services Register, not the details the firm gives you and, if in doubt, check the firm’s details with directory enquiries or Companies House to make sure they’re the same.
The FCA has also developed the FCA Firm Checker to make it easier for consumers to check if financial services firms are authorised by the FCA and have the relevant FCA permissions to sell you products and services. Check it out at: https://www.fca.org.uk/consumers/fca-firm-checker
Keeping you safe
We take security very seriously and are pleased to have obtained Cyber Essentials certification to help protect our systems and our client data. To help you keep safe, we’ve added a few more guides to our Keep Safe corner below. The fabulous ‘Little Book of Big Scams’ is produced by the Metropolitan Police and aims to raise awareness of ways that criminals might target you. It also highlights the steps you can take to protect yourself and others. Please do take the time to read it (there’s an audio version available too). It may be the best thing you do this year.
